It is sad that you join in the vilification of traffic wardens. The victim in this case was a civil enforcement officer, a low-paid public sector worker who has a right to do his job without being assaulted or harassed.

Without revenue from parking tickets, mostly dished out to selfish motorists too lazy to walk a few steps further, council tax would have to be higher. I know which I prefer.

Traffic wardens should have more powers to stop drivers parking or driving in the few cycle lanes we have, forcing us cyclists out into the traffic.
