Amongst my Christmas Cards yesterday morning - a letter informing me of a rent increase for 2011/12 of 6.1%.
Happy Christmas to you as well! There are not many certainties in life, but one is that whilst Hackney Council's tenants are to experience a rent increase of 6.1%, few if any of those tenants will receive a pay increase of anything like that.
Times are getting harder.



nicki works for cheshire east council and received a christmas newsletter with holly border etc. it included a reminder on the council's policy of staff not accepting gifts.

Lambeth Council have even attempted to extend such a policy to staff being offered tea/biscuits etc when visiting people's homes.

i take it you're not one of the people living on millionaire's row at council rent prices that will soon be ethnically cleansed so that the propertied classes can move in…

Why would anyone in their right mind offer council staff tea and biscuits? Unless they had arsenic in them...
