I had a similar leaflet put through my door yesterday entitled 'Tenant Loans' - unsecured loans from £300 - 3000. I thought the '23.1% APR Typical' was a bit steep, but compared to Oakam, they seem a flaming bargain!

Well I'm now certain I was getting preferential credit offers after seeing the Provident Personal Credit leaflet that my yougest daughter received for her being a good customer - Typical 183.2% APR on a £300 loan repayable over 56 weeks, total amount payable £504.

the only reason places like oakam are getting so much flak is that they are letting people decide whether they can afford to pay back loans, rather than dictate it like banks (many who, like providence, offer similar rates)
