It is not just men carrying table legs or innocent Brazilians who the Metropolitan Police like to shoot.

You may remember the story of the pensioner allegedly savaged to death by his Rottweiler in the street. It now appears that the man died of natural causes, and the dog was in fact trying to pick him up and help him.

Still, there is no need to find a new home for the poor creature - armed police shot it dead on the spot.

The word bastards does not really do them justice does it?
