No Prawn Sandwiches In Burnley

Last Saturday I took myself off to Burnley, to see the home team play Bristol City.

One of the best things about seeing football outside of the Premiership is that the fans are more committed. At Old Trafford, some fans are obsessed with leaving early to avoid the rush - often missing the last 10 minutes of games. Why bother coming unless you want to see the whole game? At Turf Moor I don't think I saw one fan leave until 5 minutes before the end, and right up until the final whistle most people stayed in their seats.

As for the game itself, you can see why Burnley have been getting better results away from home - they do not really get a lot of men forward in support of Akinbiyi. Bristol city deserved to win, with managers son Lee Johnson outstanding. Darren Byfield still has something to offer as well.

Oh - and for any Burnley BNP'ers - yes that was me in the St Pauli hat!
