The case of Clissold Leisure Centre remains a festering sore in the borough.
Now closed for over 3 years, Hackney's residents are millions of pounds out of pocket as a result.
The current issue of Private Eye makes a fascinating claim about the architects of Clissold - Hodder Associates, run by Stephen Hodder. It seems these clowns not only designed the car crash of a building in Stoke Newington (sue me if you dare Mr Hodder), but the Berners Pool at Grange Over Sands in Cumbria.
Opened in 2003 at a cost of £3.5 million, the pool closed in 2005, and may now be demolished. Does anyone detect a pattern emerging here?
